Why Shop Reusable

For Our Planet

Conventional pads, tampons, and their packaging significantly contributes to the amount of single-use plastic waste produced annually. An individual who menstruates will use an average of 11,000 pads and tampons in their lifetime. Each of these product can take up to 50 years to break down in landfills, while simultaneously releasing toxic chemicals into the environment. These products pollute landfills, cause flooding by blocking sewer systems, enter waterstreams, and are a threat to wildlife and ecosystems around the globe.

Period underwear, reusable pads, and menstrual cups are sustainable alternatives to conventional single-use menstrual products. Additionally, we use biodegradable packaging for our products and strictly forbid the use of any plastic material to further reduce our environmental footprint.

For Our Health

Single-use Pads
Menstrual pads are not only uncomfortable, but they can also be harmful to your health. Conventional pads are not naturally white - the fibres are bleached in chlorine which creates dioxin, a highly toxic pollutant that can be absorbed by your body.

We all know the feeling of wearing a pad in a hot summer day. The plastic layer in the pad traps moisture and heat, while creating a perfect environment for the growth of yeast and bacteria. This is why pads can cause burning, chafing, and rashes on your skin.

Tampons
Tampons can cause a number of negative issues for your health. When left in the vagina for an excess amount of time, tampons can increase the risk of toxic shock syndrome (TSS). Although TSS is a rare condition, it can be life-threatening. During light flow days, tampons can cause tiny abrasions on the vaginal wall during removal. With the vagina being a sponge of healthy bacteria, tampons can increase the risk of bacteria breeding, causing yeast infection and/or bacterial vaginosis (BV). Health Canada and the FDA do not regulate the ingredients found in tampons, nor in pads. Companies are not obligated to list their ingredients including any chemicals, pesticides and other harmful ingredients that may have been used when manufacturing their products.

For Your Wallet

The average individual who menstruates will spend a minimum of $6,000 on single-use menstrual products (pads and tampons) in the course of their lifetime. Adversely, an individual will spend an average of $1,100 on reusable mentrual products such as period underwear and menstrual cups. Reusable menstrual products may be more costly per unit, however they can be used for multiple years before needing to be replaced, ultimately resulting in more savings in the long term.

We aim to provide affordable & high-quality products in order to make reusable menstrual products more accessible for all.
